I was very surprised to see that no one was using the Adword Keyword Tool to track popular keywords, only one person was using the popular Google Webmaster Tools , only two persons knew what a sitemap.xml was and only a bunch knew what Permalinks (or nice URL) are…
So, when I spoke about canonization and double content issues, robots.txt and .htaccess, scrapers and bad bots, spoke about Matt Cutts recommandations, I am sure most of you were lost (if not bored).
It shows that there is indeed a need to educate bloggers on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) for better ranking and therefore, opportunity to blog for cash.
Anyway, thanks to the team for organising Barcamp… It was really nice and it helped me to realise that it is important to integrate a group like this one so that I don’t remain the anonymous guy with 10 different nicknames…
And for those who came at my presentation, I’ll do better next time…
