Hi All

I think the online world needs to divide into those who actually understand and enjoy info tech and the philistines like myself who can barely use a mobile phone.

The reason I'm a reader of this blog site is that I work in places where I'm happy if I can just get a dial-up connection once a day. I think my life is no less enriched by not having or using modern technology. However, I'm not opposed to those who do and I appreciate that people who devote time to blog sites help me to communicate.

Anyhow, where this post is leading to is the suggestion/plea that providers of online content (e.g. blog sites) introduce portals that split users into low bandwidth (and low sophistication) users and high bandwidth. For me it means I still get to read the text (which is what I really want) and I don't spend hours waiting for funny little animations to load.

Erik,
Great post and thanks for the slides. The 'how-to' is timely for me personally as I don't blog for a living either and am desperate need to update my site as a blog. I'll repost here with my success/comments later.
