As I take another step back, I'm reminded that Ushahidi's beginnings one year ago were b/c of the hardships following the elections 1 year ago. I am happy to see things safe right now, but fearful that things are simmering under the surface. I have no illusions that I am no African and do not understand Africa, so I turn to prayer, knowing this is my only tool to help bring true Peace. I step back to sort of take it in and wonder where Ushahidi can go from here. As I take another step back, I’m reminded that Ushahidi’s beginnings one year ago were b/c of the hardships following the elections 1 year ago. It almost seems like yesterday when we were surrounded by the haze of uncertainty and despair sparked by the elections in Kenya. Ushahidi gives us a sense of pride as Africans and as technologists but perhaps most importantly it gives those afflicted during a crisis hope and dignity. Great work guys.
