I am new to Liberia. I am stuck with an interesting problem that nobody seems able to fix. I have a Blackberry Pearl (Unlocked; used in KE, Safaricom, UK, Vodafone, Belgium, MobiStar) that is on LoneStar BUT I cannot get any calls or texts from the U.S or from Kenya. LoneStar are not helpful...since it is NOT a Nokia...Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

If you are a new entrant trying to break into a mobile phone monopoly market that has no number portability, then dual sim cards is the way to go.

This is what Orange is doing in Kenya. New customers get to sign up with Orange and use their service while at the same time they can be reached on their old Safaricom numbers.

They are not blatantly announcing their strategy because they are marketing their phones as having the ability to receive calls from 2 callers.

Anything that generates traffic should be considered business, I think. The above mentioned prototype reminds me of some iPhone clones from China (which often come with two SIM card holders).

@John: Cool!
