@sachmo It was announced at the Maker Faire that the next will be held next year in Nairobi, Kenya. We'll be looking forward to a spectacle of an event.
Just recently the Nairobi University acquired a FabLab which is going to be part of a larger Government Sponsored Science Park. It is now under the University of Nairobi's Engineering Department.
So far we have some of the innovators that have been recently highlighted in the media pursuing their projects with our equipment. These are Pascal Katana and Simon Mwaura. More will be published on a website under development.

Hi Hash,

the last couple of weeks have seen kenyan newspapers highlighting local innovation talent. av been following this with interest, tho unfortunately being in Geneva, am sometimes out of the loop. a friend referred me to your sites n i stumbled on the IDDS and Make Faire events in Accra - was wondering is there anything in the offing for such an event in nairobi? are there any efforts being made to bring kenyan innovators together?

Thanks Hash. We are looking forward to a great event. We hope that this will lead to a greater conversation in Kenya, TEDxes in Africa and the world over.
