I’m glad that people are trying to help, that they’re taking action to do something. I just can’t help but think that the strategy is skewed, that it doesn’t take into account the realities of daily living and politics in Africa.

His take on the Live 8 concerts was that the world really doesn’t understand where the money really goes. Third world country leaders are, as a whole, greedy and corrupt. He suggests that they go talk to the villagers and ask them if they ever see the fruits of foreign aid. He wants to see money go to roads, education etc. Those of us who have lived overseas know the plight of these countries. Very few leaders are strong enough to do what is right for the country.
