Anonymity?! I guess that's one of the first things people give up when they start blogging. After all I think in my case one can find more information on the web as I like. Somehow scary, since lots of of things are not only found on my own page, but also in lots of comments an guestbooks forums.... And even more, pages are beeing archived, so things I deleted on my site can be found years later on Archive.org. Hey, and JKE, Nielsen is talking about your "future boss". One of the futures best business will probably be to sell detailes personal information about clients, collegues and employees. So, from a negative point of view, please continue to blog, join communities and networks on the web, share your favorite books, bookmarks, bands, and use your credit card! You are boosting the economy. Anyway, I'd checked my blog already on Nielsens points and started a "most wanted" section. But I'm still searching for a more convenient way, - maybe a WP-Plugin?

if i wanted to have a perfect blog, i would have some work to do.
same thing with you, the biography and picture stuff is the hardest. my blog is mainly for communicating with people who i don’t know personally and i cherish the anonymity that comes with the blog.

The tough one for me to rationalize is the “Author Biography” one. My blog is my somewhat anonymous area to muse on things that interest me. Anonymous being the keyword. However, I can understand how people would want to know more about the person behind the blog, just like I like knowing a little something about the author of a good book. I’ll keep debating this…

“Nondescript Posting Titles” – why not? I think Nielsen is a bit wrong on this one – a weblog isn’t some sort of newspaper. I think creating titles are the best part about blogging!

“Forgetting That You Write for Your Future Boss” LOLOLOL – I guess the guys I used to be working for some time ago don’t even know what a blog is, nor might they ever have googled. Europe, man, an IT-desert 🙂
