But what you’re seeing in Uganda and what I saw in Ghana is harking back to the issues of Africa needing to host more local content. For people there, it loads wonderfully fast, but apparently comes down mostly to an issue of cost. I’m curious to see if all the new cable in East Africa for international connections, which will create more users in Africa overall, will ironically create more locally hosted sites as there will be more of an audience for it. One can only hope as the current situation is quite unfortunate and stifling a great deal of web innovation.
