Mapping Religions Over Time

by HASH on January 4, 2007

Watch the flash video below and see how the world religions have grown, ebbed and spread over thousands of years.

This wonderful graphic, and more maps like “Who has controlled the Middle East” at Mapsofwar.com.

This is a nice (sanitized) video. It made me want to cheer for the home team. It looked for a while like we weren’t going to make a comeback.

It was those missionaries – they didn’t drop the ball when they went long.

What about the Christian empire of Aksum/Ethiopia from the 5th century onward? Not taken into account here.

Aaron, I can only assume that the guys who put this together are as ignorant of Africa as most of the Western world. ;)

Hi, thanks for the comment on my blog – ages ago, I know, but at least I came by for a visit ;) I’m still catching up after the holiday season.

True what you say about the western world being ignorant of Africa… Somehow they think we’re just another national geographic special – no ‘real’ people living here…

Interesting map – I’ve never seen it like this before!

Keep well,
danette
